YONKERS, N.Y. - A busy roadway in Yonkers has been temporarily shut down as crews investigate a gas leak.

Due to a gas leak, Caryl Avenue has been closed between Elinor Place and South Broadway in Yonkers, according to police in the 3rd Precinct. Crews are currently on scene investigating.

No timetable has been released regarding when the roadway would be fully reopened. Police said that motorists and pedestrians should avoid the area if possible until the scene is cleared. Keep following Daily Voice for updates.
